Majestic a new Group winner for Dubawi

MAJESTIC DUBAWI took the 6f Laundry Cottage Stud Firth of Clyde Stakes at Ayr on Saturday, recording her first first win at that level.

The daughter of Tidal Chorus first changed hands at the Tattersalls as a yearling for 2,800gns before being re-sold to Gill Richardson in the October sale for 22,000gns.

Tidal Chorus, a seven-year-old mare by Singspiel, was bought privately by Tiranga Bloodstock's Peter Hickey and Tegbir Brar, and is now at stud in India, in foal to Pastoral Pursuits. She is half-sister to the useful 7f and 1m winner South Rock. Majestic Dubawi is her first foal.

Trained by Mick Channon, Majestic Dubawi started at 22-1, beating Ragsah, a half sister to Dubai Millennium, by a length. Ragsah is by last year's top first-season sire by earnings, Sharmardal.
