Majestic colt stars on another good day at OBS

TWO weeks after providing the $700,000 Keeneland April sale-topper, Coolmore first-crop sire Majestic Warrior starred again, this time as the sire of a colt who topped a strong second session of the OBS April Two-year-olds in Training Sale in Florida on Tuesday.

Narvick International went to $400,000 for the colt, who was a $47,000 Keeneland November foal purchase by Farfellow Farms and retained for $34,000 at the Fasig-Tipton Kentucky July Yearling Sale.

Consigned by Harris Training Center, he is out of the Mr Greeley mare Flirtatious Miss, a half-sister to Grade 2 winner Prospectress as well as the dam of James Given's Princess Royal Wilmott Dixon Stakes heroine Trick Or Treat.

A first-crop daughter of Grade 2 winner Keyed Entry had earlier provided her consignor, Hernan Parra, with an incredible pinhook home run when selling for $260,000 to John Fort. Parra had paid just $5,700 for the filly, who is out of a sister to Grade 1 winner and sire Southern Image, at last year's OBS August Sale.

Her price was matched by a colt from the second crop of Claiborne Farm stallion Political Force, who was knocked down to Bear Stables. Azpurua Stables consigned the colt, a mere $21,000 Keeneland September pinhook by Eric Aquino and out of the Monarchos mare Endless Virtue.

All told, 197 two-year-olds were sold on Tuesday for a total of $8,730,500. The average rose 36 per cent to $44,322 while the median soared 50 per cent to $30,000.
