Both fillies were bred by their owners Sheikh Mohammed Bin Khalifa Al Maktoum in Australia during Galileo's stint shuttling to Coolmore's base in the country.

It's the perfect start to 2011 for Galileo. The reigning champion sire of Britain and Ireland looks a warm favourite to regain his title with joint-champion juvenile colt Frankel set to race for him, along with Group 1-performing two-year-olds Roderic O'Connor, Sevilleand Together.

Mahbooba is out of the winning Red Ransom mare Sogha, herself a daughter of US-bred Diesis mare Marple, from the family of Group 3 Prix Gontaut-Biron winner Slew The Red.

Mahbooba's fifth dam is GreatLady M, winner of the La Brea Stakes and dam of Breeders' Cup Distaff heroine and 1986 horse of the year Ladys Secret.
