Wicked Style to begin stud duty in Australia

WICKED STYLE, winner of the Grade 1 Lane's End Breeders' Futurity in 2007, has been acquired for stud duty by Oaklands Stud in Queensland, Australia.

The five-year-old son of Macho Uno will stand alongside All Bar One, Break The Vault, Chateau Istana and Ferocity, and begins his career at stud at a fee of A$8,800 (£5,370, €6,275).

Wicked Style was bred by Adena Springs out of the Trempolino mare Deviletta, a granddaughter of Lowther Stakes and Prix de l'Abbaye winner Polonia. He was sold as a yearling for $43,000.

He won five of his 17 starts, including the Lane's End Breeders' Futurity at two. Lightly raced at three due to a stress fracture to a leg, his best run at four came when third in the Grade 2 Fayette Stakes.

Wicked Style is one of two Grade 1 scorers sired by Breeders' Cup Juvenile winner Macho Uno, a half-brother to Awesome Again. The other is last year's Stephen Foster Handicap winner Macho Again.
