Three winners in a day for King's Theatre

A BUSY day of racing on Easter Monday brought several doubles for winning sires, while King's Theatre had three winners.

In the first race at Fairyhouse, the Grade 2 Keelings IrishStrawberry Hurdle, the high-class mare Voler La Vedette secured an early win on the Irish Grand National card for King's Theatre.

He already had a winner on the board at Fakenham, where the eight-year-old gelding Caulkin took the Robert Hoare Novices' Hunters' Chase. The treble was completed in the Fakenham bumper courtesy of the Nicky Henderson-trained mare Arctic Actress, a half-sister to useful chasers Isn't That Lucky and Wee Robbie.

Shade Oak Stud's Fair Mix had two winners: Simonsig in the Irish Racing Post Champion Point-To-Point Bumper and Pam Sly's Chicklemix in the 2m4f handicap hurdle at Fakenham. Simonsig was bred by Simon Tindall, who also bred Auld Burns, recent winner of the £250,000 Tattersalls Millions 3-Y-0 Trophy.

Luso sired Cork beginners' chase winner The Bog Boyo and Market Rasen novice hurdle winner Alta Rock, owned and trained by Sue Smith and bred by Michael Hickey.

At Ffos Las, Glenview Stud stallion Dubai Destination produced two winners in Am I Blue, who took the mares' handicap hurdle, and Head Hunted in the maiden hurdle.

Fellow Glenview sire Presenting sired both the 3m1f handicap chase winner at Fairyhouse, Arklow Ger, and Nicky Henderson-trained winner of the Ffos Las bumper, Top Of The Range.

At Plumpton, the deceased Silver Patriarch notched a quick double when Hi Ho Silvia and Ethiopia took the fifth and sixth races on the card. The former was a 2m2f handicap hurdle and the latter a 3m2f handicap chase.
