Lush Lashes scanned in foal to Oasis Dream

TRIPLE Group 1 winner Lush Lashes has been scanned in foal to Juddmonte's flagbearer Oasis Dream after recently giving birth to her first foal, a filly by Ballylinch Stud inmate Lawman.

Redmondstown Stud manager Ken Bolger, who confirmed the news, is hoping that the mating with Oasis Dream will inject a little speed into the Galileo mare's pedigree.

"Speed is a factor, but he is a very good sire and she is a very good mare," said Bolger. "You breed the best to the best and hope for the best, don't you?"

Although a champion sprinter himself, Oasis Dream is capable of producing top-class performers over awide variety of trips, including last year's 5f King's Stand winner Prohibit and Henry Cecil's multiple Group 1 middle-distance scorer Midday.

Bolger also reported that the first foals by dual Group 3 winner Vocalised, who, like Lush Lashes, was trained by his uncle Jim Bolger, to be a strong crop. "We have some Vocalised foals on the ground," said Bolger. "They are very strong, good looking foals much like himself - we are delighted with them. So delighted, we have increased our quota of mares to him this year."

Vocalised, a son of the late American-based sire Vindication, looked to be a horse of serious potential after easily beating Cityscape in the Group 3 Greenham Stakes at Newbury before winning the Group 3 Tetrarch Stakes at the Curragh. However, he did not win again in five starts and was retired as a four-year-old.
