LOVETHEHIGHERLAW (5 g Presenting - Markiza by Broken Hearted)

Breeder: Kenneth Parkhill in Ireland

MICHAEL O'Leary's Gigginstown House Stud colours were memorably carried at the top level by War Of Attrition, who became the first of Presenting's two Cheltenham Gold Cup winners when landing the 2006 renewal. Six years on and the outfit appears to have unearthed another exciting prospect by the reigning champion jumps sire in Wednesday's narrow champion INH Flat race winner Lovethehigherlaw.

The gelding, a €115,000 purchase by Ballinaskeagh Stables at the 2009 Tattersalls Ireland Derby Sale, showed a fine attitude to outbattle the Shadwell-bred Waaheb (by Elusive Quality) and win by a head.

Lovethehigherlaw owns a classy jumps pedigree as the first foal out of an unraced half-sister to the Champion Hurdle-winning duo Morley Street and Granville Again. Markiza is also a half-sister to the dam of Ascot Chase winner Hand Inn Hand.

Markiza has a three-year-old sister to the winner and a yearling filly by Robin Des Pres.
