THE first foal by the Irish National Stud's Lord Shanakill was born on Monday evening; a bay filly out ofthe stakes-producing mare Chiosina bred by Pat and Hugh Hyland of Oghill House Stud.

She is the fourth foal out of Chiosina, an unraced daughter of Danehill Dancer who has already produced the Listed winner and Group 2-placed Mixed Intention.

"We are very pleased with her," said Pat Hyland. "She is the image of her sire."

Lord Shanakill enjoyed his finest moment on the track when successful in the 2009 Prix Jean Prat. He alsolanded the Mill Reef Stakes and Lennox Stakes and ran a close second in the Dewhurst Stakes.

The son of Speightstown, who hails from the family of champions Al Bahathri and Haafhd, covered 128 mares in his first season at stud last year. He stands at the Irish National Stud for €5,000.
