Relation to Act One breaks maiden

A FINE front-running performance saw Lord Chancellor break his maiden at the fourth time of asking in the 1m2f maiden at Lingfield on Saturday.

The son of King's Best - who relocates to Haras du Logis from Kildangan Stud for the 2009 season - is the first foal out of Summer Serenade, a placed Sadler's Wells three-parts sister to Criterium International and Prix Lupin winner Act One.

From a family cultivated by Gerald Leigh, Summer Serenade is also a half-sister to the Group 1-placed pair Gharir and Summer Symphony as well as Listed winner Summer Solstice.

Via the dual Italian champion Proskona, Lord Chancellor traces to Royal Statute, also the ancestress of Group 1 winners Bosra Sham, Hector Protector, Awaasif, Snow Bride and Lammtarra.

Summer Serenade has a yearling filly by Tiger Hill.
