Win for Duke Of Marmalade half-sister

A STORM CAT half-sister to champion Duke Of Marmalade won her maiden at Leopardstown on Thursday evening, her second racecourse appearance.

Named Looking Lovely, she is the sixth foal of the Kingmambo mare Love Me True, and a year-younger sister of the Jean-Claude Rouget-trained Countess Lemonade who was second in a Listed race in France on her third start this year.

The filly is trained by Aidan O'Brien and carried the colours of John Magnier. She holds entries in the top-level Moyglare Stud Stakes and the Keeneland-sponsored Phoenix Stakes.

A son of Danehill, Duke Of Marmalade failed toget his head in front in six Group 1s, but improved as a four-year-old when he won five top-level contests in a row - four over 1m2f and the King George Stakes over 1m4f.

This year was his second at Coolmore Stud, where he commanded afee of €30,000 after an initial €40,000 in 2009.
