Spence's familiar red silks with white sleeves and a blue-and-white striped cap have been carried to big-race victory by the likes of Eradicate, Hot Prospect and Jukebox Jury.

The Gerard Butler-trained Little Black Book, who finished last in the Tattersalls Million race at two on his sole previous start, was bred by Rabbah Bloodstock.

He is by Shamardal and out of the Rahy mare Extreme Beauty, a dual winner over 6-7f at two to three who finished third in the Group 2 Cherry Hinton Stakes.

McKeever St Lawrence bought Little Black Book for 110,000gns from the consignment of Highclere Stud at Book 1 of the Tattersalls October yearling sale in 2009.
