Listed winner sells for €380,000 at Arqana

RECENT Listed winner Dealbata lit up a slow second day of Arqana's December Breeding Stock Sale after Michel Zerolo went to €380,000 to secure the daughter of Dubawi.

Knocked down to Oceanic Bloodstock, the three-year-old filly will continue her racing career in the United States having been bought for Martin Schwartz.

The winner of three of her five races, including by half a length a Saint-Cloud just over two weeks ago, Dealbata was offered from Mikel Delzangles's stable on behalf of her owner the Marquesa de Moratalla.

Zerolo said afterwards, "I liked everything about her, she is lightly raced, has a great pedigree, and looks ideal for America."

The move signalled a quick reinvestment for Schwartz, having sold Classic winner Evading Tempete for €360,000 yesterday. The ex-Marine has been extremely successful in recent years with French breds following the likes of Gorella, Stacelita and Zagora.

A FIRST-CROP daughter of Soldier Of Fortune dominated proceedings on a slow second day of Arqana's Breeding Stock Sale when selling to Marc-Antoine Berghracht for €45,000.

The second foal of the Dansili mare La Boisserie, the filly is a close relative of Dansant, a six time Listed winner by the same sire.

Offered from Haras du Logis Saint Germain, who also stand the 2007 nine length Irish Derby winner, the foal was one of nine catalogued by the sire atthe sale.

He numbers 75 foals in his first crop, which saw the seven year old become the first son of Galileo to stand in France in 2010.

FOALS have dominated the early part of Arqana's December Breeding Stock Sale on Day 2, with a son of Sky Mesa making €40,000 to Fergus Galvin from Haras des Monceaux.

Out of the two time winning Mount Livermoremare Djebel Amour, the February born colt is a half-brother to Group 3 placed Smart Coco from the close family of Champion filly Sayyedati.

Irishman Galvin, who joint owns Hunter Valley Farm in Kentucky, made his first ever purchase at Deauville when signing for On Me, a three year old daughter of Street Cry from Darley yesterday.

Fresh from the success of buying Prix de l'Arc de Triomphewinner Danedream as a two year old, the BBA Germany's Dirk Eisele bought a son of first crop sire Champs Elysees for €38,000.

Offered from Coulonces Consignment, the foal is a close relative of another Arc winner, Rail Link.
