Honorlina joins Newsells broodmare band

HONORLINA, a sister to Poule d'Essai des Poulains winner Vahorimix, is likely to be one of Mount Nelson's first book next season after selling to Johnny McKeever of McKeever St Lawrence on behalf of Newsells Park Stud for €200,000.

The daughter of Linamix, who won last season at Saint-Cloud in the colours of the Aga Khan, is also a sister to the Group 3-placed Vadalix and hails from the top-class Lagardere family of Vadawina and Val Royal.

"She is a lovely filly from a very good family," said Julian Dollar, manager of Newsells Park Stud. "She is a sister to a Guineas winner and Linamix is a wonderful broodmare sire. We bought her to go to Mount Nelson next year, and I think Linamix and Danzig cross very well."

He added: "We're looking to get into one or two specialfamilies. This catalogue is strong on pedigree and if we can find the individual to match, we'll have a go."

Several lots earlier, Laurent Benoit of the Broadhurst Agency paid €125,000 for Unbaka, a placed sister to Andre Fabre's highly promising two-year-old Russiana.

"She will stay in France," said Benoit. "Her sister was very impressive when she won her only start at Longchamp and this filly was bought inthe hope that Russiana can win some good races next year."
