Son of Irish Oaks winner Lailani wins on debut

A SON of Kingmambo and triple Group/Grade 1 winner Lailani won a race for unraced three-year-olds over 1m2 1/2f at Maisons-Laffitte on Monday.

Bred at Gainsborough Farms, Ley Hunter is trained by Andre Fabre and runs in the colours of Sheikh Mohammed.

Lailani was well-beaten on both starts at two, but won her next seven races at three and leaping from handicap to Group 1 company.

Her top-level wins came in the Irish Oaks, Nassau Stakes and the Grade 1 Flower Bowl Invitational at Belmont Park.

Ley Hunter is Lailani's fourth foal. Her first two, both by A.P, Indy, were winners in the US, and her third, Sovereign Remedy by Elusive Quality, is a fair handicapper over a mile.
