Half-sister to Golan debuts on Friday

RACE DEBUTANTE Leocorno, a half-sister to Golan and this year's Derby runner-up Tartan Bearer, has been declared for the 1m fillies'maiden race at Doncaster on Friday.

Like her brothers, she is trained in Newmarket by Sir Michael Stoute.

By Pivotal, the filly is from the illustrious Ballymacoll Stud family which includes Group 1 performers North Light, Gamut and Bonny Scot under her first three dams.

The Doncaster race has proved to be a fertile breeding ground for talented fillies. In the 2007 renewal Miracle Seeker finished third, and in the new millennium the subsequent Group winners Zenda, Zanzibar, Lailani, Time On and Twyla Tharp have contested the race.

In 2005, Stoute chose this race as an introduction for Allegretto.
