Laverock retired to stud

GROUP 1 winner Laverock will enter stud at Haras de l'Abbaye in France next season at a fee of €1,500.

Initially trained by Carlos Laffron-Parias, Laverock claimed the scalp of Derby runner-up Walk In The Park when breaking his maiden as a two-year-old at Saint-Cloud. After taking a pair of Group 3 races the following year, the son of Octagonal progressed intoa leading older performer, defeating Manduro to take the Prix d'Ispahan before landing the Gran Premio del Jockey Club Italiano.

Laverock was transferred to Godolphin following those performances, for whom he ran third in last season's Gran Premio del Jockey Club and fourth in the King George.

Laverock is the first foal out of the winning Sadler's Wells mare Sky Song, a half-sister to this season's Listed winner Captain Webb who is from the immediate family of top-class miler Markofdistinction.
