Prince Flori retired to Gestüt Ohlerweierhof

PRINCE FLORI, a shock but convincing winner of the Group 1 Grosser Preis von Baden in 2006, has been retired to stand at Gestüt Ohlerweiherhof near Karlsruhe in Germany.

The seven-year-old son of Lando has left his trainer Sascha Smrczek and entered stud at Ohlerweiherhof, where he will stand alongside Goodricke, Minley and Touch Down. His fee has not been announced.

Prince Flori was sent off at odds of 40-1 when beating Oriental Tiger into second by three lengths in the Grosser Preis von Baden at three.

He won f0ur other Pattern races, including the Group 2 Grosser Mercedes-Benz Preis, in which he had Egerton and Schiaparelli behind.

Prince Flori is out of the winning Nebos mare Princess Liberte, making him a half-brother to Listed-winning hurdler Prince Nico.
