AESOP'S FABLES (c Distorted Humor - Abhisheka by Sadler's Wells)

Bred by Darley Stud Management Co Ltd in US

AESOP'S Fables hails from a family noted for its number of top female producers and in producing a Group 1 winner in her first year at stud, his dam Abhisheka well is on her way to matching their achievements.

The daughter of Sadler's Wells, who ran second in the Listed Balanchine Stakes for Godolphin, is a half-sister to the Derby and Arc hero Lammtarra and out of Snow Bride, who was awarded the 1989 Epsom Oaks. In turn, she is out of Sheikh Mohammed's first Group 1 winner Awaasif.

Further back, this is the family of Korveya (dam of Bosra Sham and Hector Protector) and Gwynn (dam of Pour Moi, Gagnoa and Kissed).

Abhisheka has a two-year-old colt by Street Cry named Advisory.

Aesop's Fables is the second European Group 1 winner for leading Kentucky sire Distorted Humor following the top Irish two-year-old Pathfork - like Aesop's Fables, he is out of a Sadler's Wells mare.

Distorted Humor, a Grade 2-winning son of Forty Niner, has also hit the headlines this year through his Grade 1-winning son Flower Alley, the sire of Kentucky Derby and Preakness stakes hero I'll Have Another.

Distorted Humor stands at WinStar Farm in Kentucky for $100,000.

Curragh: Barclays Bank Ireland Pretty Polly Stakes (Group 1), 3yo+, f/m

IZZI TOP (4 f Pivotal - Zee Zee Top by Zafonic)

Bred by Meon Valley Stud in Britain

A DAY after siring Chipchase Stakes winner Maarek, Pivotal was on the mark again, this time as the sire of a very different type of performer in Izzi Top. The Meon Valley-homebred denied Sapphire (by Medicean) to land her first Group 1 and thus lead home a one-two for Cheveley Park Stud stallions.

Izzi Top is her sire's 20th Group 1 winner and joins a roll call that ranges from top sprinters such as Kyllachy to German Derby winner Buzzword and Anglo-Irish Oaks heroine Sariska.

Izzi Top, who emulated her dam earlier this year by winning the Middleton Stakes, is another star by the sire who appreciates a trip, having won over 1m3f and finished placed in last year's Oaks.

Izzi Top's brilliant family is chock-a-block with middle-distance and staying talent: her dam Zee Zee Top won the Prix de l'Opera over 1m2f and is a daughter of Irish Oaks winner Colorspin, making her a half-sister to dual Ascot Gold Cup winner Kayf Tara and King George winner Opera House. Izzi Top's third dam is Meon Valley Stud's immensely influential mare Reprocolor.

Hamburg: Sparda 143 Deutsches Derby (Group 1), 1m4f

PASTORIUS (c Soldier Hollow - Princess Li by Monsun)

Bred by Franz Prinz Von Auersperg & Florian Haffa in Germany

DEUTSCHES Derby hero Pastorius is one of three stakes winners from the first crop of British-bred German stallion Soldier Hollow alongside Listed scorers Dessau and Sworn Sold.

Soldier Hollow was a tough and top-class runner on the continent, winning 12 of 31 starts including four Group 1 races and the 2006 Group 2 Prix Dollar, in which he defeated Manduro. He stands for €6,000 at Gestut Auenquelle in Germany.

Pastorius is the second Group 1 winner this year out of a mare by Monsun (also the sire of Deutsches Derby runner-up Novellist) following Ascot Gold Cup hero Colour Vision. His dam, the winning Princess Li, is responsible for three winners from as many runners including the Group 3-placed Point Blank. She is a half-sister to four minor winners and out of a daughter of the 1992 German 1,000 Guineas heroine Princess Nana.

Curragh: Grangecon Stud Stakes (Group 3), 6f, 2yo f

SENDMYLOVETOROSE (f Bahamian Bounty - Windy Gulch by Gulch)

Bred by Silfield Bloodstock Ltd in Britain

SENDMYLOVETOROSE capped a good day for descendants of Storm Bird's dam South Ocean when taking the Grangecon Stud Stakes. South Ocean is also the ancestress of Sunday's Prix du Bois winner Snowday.

A bargain £5,000 purchase by McKeever Bloodstock at last year's DBS Premier Sale, she is the seventh Group winner for Bahamian Bounty. The son of Cadeaux Genereux is a particularly effective sire of two-year-olds and is enjoying another strong year in that department with recent Marble Hill Stakes winner Cay Verde also among his current crop.

Sendmylovetorose is the second stakes winner out of the multiple winner Windy Gulch following 1m3f French Listed scorer Windya (by Linamix).
