Third Goffs Dundalk breeze-up on Wednesday

THE first breeze-up sale of the 2009 UK and Irish bloodstock year takes place at Dundalk racecourse on Wednesday, January 21, when 68 National Hunt horses are due to work up the racecourse. The breeze-up starts at 11.00am ahead of the sale which starts at 1.30pm.

This is the third renewal of the breeze-up which averaged €24,861 in 2007 and €26,012 last year.

Two additional lots are to be offered. Lot 69 is a Presenting gelding from the family of Takagi, winner of the Grade 2 Troytown Chase and Grade 3 Bobbyjo Chase and placed at Grade 1 level, and Lot 68, a five-year-old son of Moscow Society who is out of a half-sister to a Listed Hurdle winner.  

A half-sister to the unbeaten Grade 1 winner Feathard Lady is among those catalogued, as is a four-year-old gelding from the family of Grade 1 winner Big Zeb.  Also included are close relations to top horses such as My Way De Solzen, Kicks For Free and the Paul Nicholls-trained Hebridean.  

Whitehall Stud, Ballyhampshire Stud, Mocklershill Stud and Meadowview Stud are amongst the vendors represented while three lots - 11, 31 and 61 - hold entries in the Goffs Land Rover Bumper.
