Lacy appointed US representative of Arqana
TONY Lacy, sales and bloodstock consultant to the Kentucky-based Four Star Sales, has been appointed US representative of Arqana.
Lacy has acted as consultant to Four Star Sales since the company was formed in 2002. Before holding that position, the Irishman worked at Wintergreen Farm in Kentucky and spent five years in Dubai as assistant trainer to Erwan Charpy.
He has also worked alongside French trainers Henri-Alex Pantall and Emmanuel Chevalier du Fau.
"Our fast expanding company has implemented an ambitious globalisation strategy since its inception in 2006, withthe aim of giving our sales a more international profile," said Eric Hoyeau, president of Arqana.
"America, as the largest thoroughbred market in the world, has obviously been a priority target, especially as we are convinced that business opportunities between Europe and North America will develop sharply in the next few years."
Lacy's role will include making potential US-based vendors and purchasers aware of the opportunities available at Arqana, whose yearling sale in August included entries from Taylor Made Farm and Airdrie Stud.
"I am humbled and excited to have been chosen by Arqana to be their representative in North America," said Lacy. "I have been extremely impressed with the management's dynamic nature and ambitious goals.
"This industry has become increasingly global, and a broad network is an essential part of success in our ever-changing marketplace."
