Konigstiger moving to Gestup Aesculap

Konigstiger a two-year-old Gr 1 winning champion will move from Gestut Zoppenbroich to Gestut Aesculap for 2012. Before moving to Zoppenbroich last year, the ten-year-old son of Tiger Hill spent the first five years of his stud career at Gestut Fahrhof.

Gestut Schlenderhan owned and bred the horse. Konstiger won the Gr 1 Gran Criterium at two, the Gr 3 Fruhjahrspreis des Bankhaus Metzler and the Gr 2 Oppenheim-Union-Rennen at three.

His progeny include Saint Perrelin, the winner of the Listed Criterium du Fonds Europeen de l'Elevage, who also placed in the Gr 3 Prix des Chenes and Shining Glory, the Listed winner of the Grosser Preis der Eilert-Bauunternehmung. Also Listed-placed pair Devilish Lips and Anking.

Konigstiger is out of a half-sister to the Champion racehorse and sire Pentire (Be My Guest), his grandam Gull Nook (Mill Reef) won the Gr 2 Ribblesdale Stakes and comes from the family of the Champion racemare Divine Proportions and the dual Gr1 winner and sire Whipper.  

His fee for 2012 will be €1,750.
