Impressive juvenile winner for Nayef

KIWI MOON coped well with the soft underfoot conditions to score impressively in the 1m juvenile maiden at Musselburgh on Friday.

The son of Nayef, who was bred by Tarworth Bloodstock Investments and cost trainer Bryan Smart 175,000gns as a yearling, is the third two-year-old winner from as many foals out of the Listed-winning Mauri Moon, following Shamayel (Pivotal) and Capannina (Grand Lodge).

Out of the Listed-winning mare Dazzling Heights, Mauri Moon is a half-sister to six winners including Singapore Derby hero Kimbridge Knight and the stakes-placed pair All Glory and Pacific Grove. The latter has since produced the Group 3 winner Mokabra.

Mauri Moon has a yearling colt by Pivotal, who was sold to John Ferguson for 150,000gns at Part 1 of the Tattersalls October Sale.
