Ballymacoll welcomes first foal of the year

BALLYMACOLL Stud in County Meath welcomed its first foal of 2012 on Wednesday.

The new arrival is a chestnut colt by Nayef out of Kitty Hawk, a Grade 3-placed daughter of Danehill Dancer.

Bred by Gestüt Hof Ittlingen, Kitty Hawk was a 70,000gns Tattersalls December foal purchase by Tom Magnier.

After 6f juvenile maiden winner at Cork for David Wachman, she was later transferred to America, where she finished third in the Grade 3 Monrovia Handicap.

Kitty Hawk, out of the Bloomsbury Stud-bred Group 3-winning Inchinor mare Palanca, was purchased by Ballymacoll for $400,000 at the 2007 Keeneland November sale.

She also has a four-year-old filly by Giant's Causeway and a yearling colt by Monsun. Her next date will be with Dalakhani.
