Thewayyouare retired
to Ashford Stud

THEWAYYOUARE, winner of the 2007 Criterium International, will stand at Ashford Stud in Kentucky next season.

The son of Kingmambo is the second Group 1 winner in as many years to retire to Coolmore's Kentucky base following last year's retirement of Henrythenavigator.

Initially trained by Andre Fabre, Thewayyouare won four of his five starts as a juvenile to end the 2007 season officially rated just two pounds below Raven's Pass. As well as the Criterium International, in which he beat Hello Morning by half a length, he also won the Prix Thomas Bryon, and earlier this season ran fourth in the Prix Ganay for Aidan O'Brien.

Out of the Group 1-placed Maryinsky, Thewayyouare is bred on the same Kingmambo-Sadler's Wells cross as the top-class runners Henrythenavigator, Divine Proportions and El Condor Pasa, who sired Japan Cup Dirt winner Vermilion during a truncated stud career in Japan.

In addition, he is a half-brother to the tough, multiple Group 1 winner Peeping Fawn and closely related to the Kentucky Broodmare of the Year Better Than Honour, who bred the consecutive Belmont Stakes winners Jazil and Rags To Riches.

Further back, it is the family of noted sires El Gran Senor, Try My Best and Australian champion Redoute's Choice.

A fee forThewayyouare will be set at a later date.
