Mambo In Seattle sold to stand in South Africa

MAMBO In Seattle, who failed by a nose to land the 2008 Grade 1 Travers Stakes, has been acquired by a syndicate of leading South African breeders to stand at Moutonshoek Stud in South Africa.

The son of Kingmambo retires as the winner of four races including the Listed Henry Walton Stakes. However, he is best remembered for going under by a whisker to Colonel John in the Travers Stakes at Saratoga. He also ran fourth in the Grade 1 Jockey Club Gold Cup.

Mambo In Seattle hails from one of the strongestfamilies in the stud book as a son of Weekend In Seattle, a Grade 1-placed sister to leading US sire A P Indy and half-sister to Summer Squall. It is also the immediate family of multiple Grade 1 winner and successful sire Lemon Drop Kid, who is also by Kingmambo.
