KINETICA benefited from Seb Sander's decision to plot a lone course on the far side, as Sir Mark Prescott's filly continued her progress with first win at Listed level.

A winner at Chester on softer ground last time, Kinetica required a further step forward amongst a field containing several strong form lines but she came home a ready winner, finishing two and a half lengths clear of joint-favourite Arsaadi.

Kirsten Rausing's homebred is the second European stakes winner by prominent Kentucky stallion Stormy Atlantic following Juddmonte's Rerouted, who was successful in last year's Somerville Tattersalls Stakes.

Stormy Atlantic is the sire of 61 stakes winners overall, seven of whom have scored this year including Get Stormy, who won the Grade 1 Turf Classic at Churchill Downs in May. He is one of three northern hemisphere Group/Grade 1 winners by Stormy Atlantic alongside Canadian champion Leonnatus Anteas and Stormello.

Although only a minor stakes-winning sprinter, Stormy Atlantic was afforded a chance at stud in Florida due to his exceptional pedigree; by Storm Cat, he is out of Grade 1 winner Hail Atlantis, a Seattle Slew granddaughter of American champion Moccasin.

A quick start with his runners saw Stormy Atlantic moved in 2004 to Hill 'n' Dale Farm in Kentucky, where he stood the past season for $30,000.

Kinetica is the second winner from as many foals following Four Nations (by Langfuhr) out of Rausing's German 1m6f Listed winner Kiswahili. By Selkirk, Kiswahili is the best of four winners out of the 1985 Lingfield Oaks Trial heroine Kiliniski and descends from famed broodmare Special, the dam and granddam of Nureyev and Sadler's Wells among others.

Kiswahili has a yearling colt by Zamindar and a colt foal by Archipenko.
