Keeneland and Fasig alter November dates

KEENELAND and Fasig-Tipton have altered the dates for their 2012 November breeding stock sales to better accommodate horsemen attending this year's Breeders' Cup at Santa Anita on November 2-3.

Both auction houses will delay the start of their respective sales by a day. As a a result, Fasig-Tipton will hold its November Sale on Monday, November 5, at 4pm while the Keeneland November sale will begin Tuesday, November 6, at 10am and run through Friday, November 16.

These scheduling adjustments will be in place during those years when the Breeders' Cup is held in California.

Keeneland President and CEO Nick Nicholson and Fasig-Tipton President and CEO Boyd Browning Jr. said in a joint statement: "We believe these changes are in order given the global significance of both the Breeders' Cup and Kentucky's fall breeding stock sales. We want to make it as easy as possible for our clients to fully participate in both important events."

Both auction houses also announced amendments to the Conditions of Sale making the Veterinary Radiographic Reports part of the Repository information available for each horse offered for sale.

Sales officials stated that inclusion of the Veterinary Radiographic Reports as part of the Repository, subjecting them to the limited warranty that the Reports are accurate, valid and authentic, further enhances the integrity of the Repository and the entire sale process.

In the event that the Veterinary Radiographic Report is materially misleading, the buyer will have 24 hours from the end of the sale session in which the horse was sold to reject the sale.
