Darley sells Kafwain
TOMMY Town Thoroughbreds has purchased Kafwain privately from Darley, and will move the stallion from Darley's Jonabell Farm to Alfred Nuckols Jr's Hurstland Farm in Kentucky, the Daily Racing Form has reported.
A son of Cherokee Run, Kafwain won the Grade 2 Norfolk Stakes and finished second to Vindication in the Breeders' Cup Juvenile at two. At three he ran third in the Santa Anita Derby.
Retired to stud in 2004, his first crop were two-year-olds in 2007. His best runner to date is the Grade 3-winner Massive Drama.
Kafwain will stand at $6,500 in 2009. He had previously stood every season at Darley at a fee of $10,000.
