Rewilding's half-sister Dar Re Mi in her controversial 'defeat' to Stacelita

Dar Re Mi half-brother gets off the mark

REWILDING, a half-brother to this season's Yorkshire Oaks heroine Dar Re Mi, got off the mark at the second attempt at Maisons-Laffitte on Monday. The Andre Fabre-trained and Sheikh Mohammed-owned two-year-old took the 1m contest on heavy ground by a length from the Listed-placed Too Nice Name. Bred by Watership Down Stud, the son of Tiger Hill sold for 500,000gns to John Ferguson at Part 1 of last year's Tattersalls October Sale and looks to be a nice prospect for next year.

His dam, Darara, who won the Prix Vermeille and is half-sister to Darshaan, is a prolific producer of high-class horses. Before Dar Re Mi, she produced Diaghilev, who cost 3,400,000gns as a yearling and won a Group 3at Chantilly. He was later sold to Hong Kong, where he won the Group 1 QE II Cup under the name River Dancer. Darara is also the dam of Group 1 Ranvet Stakes winner Darazari andDariyoun, who ran third in the Prix du Cadran.
