Cullen appointed to board of Goffs

GOFFS' marketing manager Joey Cullen has been appointed to the company's board as marketing director.

Cullen, a graduate of the University of Limerick with a BSc in equine science, joined Goffs in 2007 after six years with Irish Thoroughbred Marketing.

He has worked in leading thoroughbred operations around the world and his stint at ITM saw him develop key international markets for Irish bloodstock.

Fellow director Elaine Lawlor will take on an ambassadorial role for Goffs, attending international sales and racing events to extend the company's global reach.

Goffs chief executive Henry Beeby said: "I am delighted to welcome Joey to the board as marketing director, a role which encompasses the implementation of Goffs' strategic marketing plan.

"This is a natural progression for Joey, whose industry knowledge has proven invaluable to Goffs since he joined the team four years ago.

"Goffs is committed to becoming a truly global auction house and Joey's appointment, together with Elaine's international connections, will be paramount to achieving this objective. We have seen a steady increase in the number of international buyers in recent years, particularly at the Orby Sale, and we will be casting the net far and wide once again this year as we sell the best Irish bloodstock to the widest audience possible"
