The stud, near Croom, has been in the ownership of the Tarry family since 1963 and is regarded as one of the most lavish estates in Ireland.

Newspaper reports in Ireland indicate that McManus has acquired Islanmore as a new home for his daughter, Sue Anne McManus, and her husband, Cian Foley.

Islanmore House is situatedin the heart of the Golden Vale and was built in 1794 for a younger son of the Earl of Dunraven as a fishing and hunting lodge.

This year Islanmore Stud was home to the Bob Back horse,Big Bad Bob, who was represented by his first winner last month and is sire of a filly foal out of Cara Fantasy, the dam of Elusive Pimpernel and Palavicini, who provided owner-breeders Windflower Overseas Holdings with a notable double at the York Ebor meeting by winning the Acomb Stakes and Strensall Stakes.
