Irish National leaves most fees unchanged

THE Irish National Stud is to keep all bar one of its six stallions at the same fee next year, including its standard-bearerInvincible Spirit, who is to remain at€60,000.

Stud chief executive John Osborne said his fee had been maintained “following another Group 1 season and the emergence of his stallion sons”.

Invincible Spirit has four sons at stud in Ireland: Captain Marvelous, Vale Of York, Zebedee and Lawman, whose first-crop runners this year include Group 3 Prix de Conde winner Loi, the Group 1-placed Most Improved and Acomb Stakes runner-up Fort Bastion.

Invincible Spirit’s Group 1 success came via Moonlight Cloud in the Prix Maurice de Gheest, although he is also sire of Sea The Stars’ three-parts brother Born To Sea.

Amadeus Wolf and Jeremy remain at €6,000 each after their first crop of runners this year, the same fee Big Bad Bob will stand at in his second season at the stud.

Art Connoisseur, whose first foals will be sold this year, will stay at €4,500, while Lord Shanakill, in his second season, has dropped to €5,000 from €7,500.
