Fees set for Big Bad Bob and Lord Shanakill

THE Irish National Stud has set fees for its two new recuits for 2011.

Big Bad Bob, who previously stood at Islanmore Stud, will cover at €6,000 having been private this year. The fee for Lord Shanakill, who retires from the racetrack, will be €7,500.

Chief executive John Osborne said of Big Bad Bob: "He was a private stallion this year but his profile has changed considerably. Suddenly you have got a horse with six or seven horses of stakes calibre, and from a small pool, so we feel he justifies a fee of €6,000."

A fee for another first-season sire, Tweenhills Stud's Makfi, was announced on Tuesday - £25,000.
