ZEBEDEE (2 c Invincible Spirit - Cozy Maria by Cozzene)

Breeder: Hascombe and Valiant Studs. Purchased by Peter Doyle Bloodstock for 70,000gns

ZEBEDEE lifted the first leg of the Tattersalls Millions series, the £100,000 Tattersalls Millions Auction Stakes, on Saturday when pouncing late under a cool Richard Hughes to deny 40/1 shot Button Moon by a head. Mayhab was another length and three-quarters away in third.

The son of Invincible Spirit, who was making it five out of six for the season, was purchased for 70,000gns by Peter Doyle as last year's Book 1 of the Tattersalls October Sale from his breeder, Hascombe and Valiant Studs. He carries the colours of Julie Wood, who enjoyed another notable pay day last year when Lucky General landed the lucrative Goffs Million Sprint.

Zebedee is the only winner from four runners out of the Listed-placed Cozy Maria. The mare's yearling colt by Oasis Dream is catalogued as lot 173 in Book 1 of this year's Tattersalls October Sale.
