Two Listed winners in two days for Invincible

IRISH NATIONAL STUD flagship sire Invincible Spirit was represented by his second Listed winner in two days when Beyond Desire won the EBF and Whitsbury Manor Stud Lansdown Fillies' Stakes over 5f at Bath on Friday.

Beyond Desire's victory follows her paternal half-brother Mayson's score in the Listed Abernant Stakes at Newmarket on Thursday.

Her trainer Roger Varian had struck with another Invincible Spirit, the three-year-old colt Ektihaam, in a hot conditions race at Newbury earlier on Friday.

Beyond Desire and Mayson are among 52 stakes winners sired byInvincible Spirit, a Haydock Sprint Cup-winning son of Green Desert who stands at a fee of €60,000.

Invincible Spirit has provided six winners at the highest level: Fleeting Spirit (July Cup), Hooray (Cheveley Park Stakes), Lawman (Prix du Jockey Club, Prix Jean Prat), Moonlight Cloud (Prix Maurice de Gheest), Vale Of York (Breeders' Cup Juvenile) and Yosei (Inglis Sires' Produce Stakes, Schweppes 1,000 Guineas).

Beyond Desire, winner of the Listed Cecil Frail Stakes at three, was bred by Pinnacle Bloodstock out of the winning Mujtahid mare Compradore, a half-sister to Princess Royal Stakes winner Mazuna from the further family of Mastercraftsman.

The Roger Varian-trained five-year-old, a half-sister to eight-time winner Cherri Fosfate, was not sold at 20,000gns at the 2007 Tattersalls December foal sale and was knocked down to McKeever St Lawrence for £55,000 at the 2008 DBS St Leger yearling sale.

Anthony Stroud bought Beyond Desire's two-year-old half-brother by Jeremy for £52,000 at last year's St Leger sale. Named Vino Collapso, the colt is in training with James Given.
