Son of Giant's Causeway wins the Dewhurst

INTENSE FOCUS, a son of Giant's Causeway, got the best in a three-way photo to win the Dewhurst Stakes-Gr1, giving trainer Jim Bolger his third success in the race in three years.

The colt is the second foal out of the juvenile winning Danehill mare Daneleta who finished third in the Railway Stakes-Gr3. She is a daughter of the 1,000 Guineas Trial winner Zavaleta (Kahyasi) and a sister to Noblesse Stakes-Gr3 winner Danelissima. The colt's third dam is La Meilleure (Lord Gayle) who is the dam of nine winners including Gran Criterium-Gr1 winner Sholokhov, Debutante Stakes winner Affianced, dam of Soldier of Fortune and Heliostatic, and Listed winner Napper Tandy.

Bolger bought Intense Focus at the Goffs Million Sale for €340,000 from Airlie Stud who bred the colt in partnership with Robert Clay. The mare's Mr Greeley yearling colt was not sold at Keeneland September Sale.
