Inglis to expand
into Asian market

FURTHER evidence of the growing importance of the Far East as a bloodstock export market has been provided by the news that Australian auction house Inglis will be expanding into Asia.
The company will open Inglis Asia in Singapore, with Peter Twomey at the helm.

Inglis managing director Mark Webster said: "Mainland China has purchased more than 60 yearlings from Inglis over the past 18 months, including nine yearlings from the 2010 Easter yearling sale.

"Over the past two years our sales to Hong Kong have risen by 15 percent and Singapore exports have doubled. We expect further growth in the years ahead and Peter will work closely with local contacts and agents in a wide range of Asian countries. He will also provide on-the-ground support for Inglis directors and senior staff on their regulartrade missions and visits to Asia."
