Inglis buys thoroughbred classifieds website
AUSTRALIAN sales company Inglis have announced the acquisition of the online thoroughbred classifieds website bloodstock.com.au. Launched in 2009, the website has since attracted over 8,000 listings from agents, trainers, breeders and owners seeking to arrange private sales of thoroughbreds.
The announcements comes shortly after the five per cent share in Coolmore sire Starspangledbanner was sold after it was advertised on the website.
There are currently more than 2,000 listings on bloodstock.com.au, ranging from broodmares, youngstock, stallions shares tonominations. The website also contains interactive stallion profiles.
Inglis managing director Mark Webster commented: "Bloodstock.com.au is an excellent online horse trading website that will compliment our existing auction business extremely well. We recognise that people want to be able to trade horses outside of the traditional auction cycle and bloodstock.com.au allows this to happen.
"Our focus is on continuing to innovate to meet our clients' needsand we think bloodstock.com.au will be an extremely important part of the overall Inglis offering.
