Impressive debuts
for bonus winners

THE filly Baileys Jubilee upstaged the colts on her debut in the 5f juvenile maiden at Kempton on Saturday when forging away for an impressive four-length win.

Marvelino, the first runner by Captain Marvelous, improved on his Brocklesby effort to run second for Pat Eddery while Robert Mills' Mosstang, a second-crop son of Moss Vale, ran third.

Baileys Jubilee's victory handed a first £10,000 Racing Post Yearling Bonus to her owner, G R Bailey Ltd (Baileys Horse Feeds), who paid £19,000 through Bobby O'Ryan for the daughter of Bahamian Bounty out of the Trickledown Stud draft at last year's DBS Premier Yearling Sale. She is the 16th bonus winner overall sent out by Mark Johnston.

Bred by P. and Mrs A. G. Venner in Britain, Baileys Jubilee is a half-sister to minor winner Baileys Stride and out of the Listed-placed Missisipi Star, by Mujahid.

At Cork, owner Peter Barnett received a yearling bonus when Liberating ran out the easy winner of the 5f juvenile fillies' maiden from Infanta Branca, the first runner by Henrythenavigator.

A daughter of Iffraaj trained by Jessica Harrington, Liberating was purchased for €50,000 by BBA Ireland at the 2010 Goffs November Foal Salebut bought back at the following year's Goffs Orby Sale for €30,000.

Bred by Dowager Countess Harrington, she is the fourth winner out of Ros The Boss, a winning half-sister to the Group 1-placed Yehudi.
