Immortal Verse entered for Arqana Arc sale

SAINT-CLOUD could be the scene of sales ring fireworks on the eve of the Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe next month, with Kilfrush Stud having entered its immaculately bred dual Group 1 winner Immortal Verse in the Arqana Arc horses in training sale.

Trainer Robert Collet consigned another Kilfrush Stud homebred and a close relation to Immortal Verse, Group 1-placed Glorious Sight, to last year's Arc sale and she lit up the auction when selling to Andreas Putsch for €1.7 million.

Immortal Verse, a daughter of Pivotal from the outstanding Kilfrush family of Last Tycoon and Valentine Waltz, won last year's Coronation Stakes and took the scalp of Goldikova to land the Prix Jacques le Marois.

She has finished down the field in her two races this year, the Prix Rothschild and Prix Jacques le Marois.

The Arc sale has attracted a catalogue of 50 horses and other notable entries include Cay Verde, who easily won the Prix d'Arenberg for Mick Channon on Tuesday, Takar, who took the Minstrel Stakes for John Oxx in July, and Forces Of Darkness, a Group 1-placed daughter of Lawman.

Five wild card spaces in the catalogue are available for consignors wishing to make a late entry. The sale takes place on Saturday, October 6.
