Hyde strikes for €48,000 High Chaparral colt
THE highlight of the first 129 lots through the ring was a High Chaparral colt from Honeypound Stud who was sold to pinhooker Timmy Hyde for €48,000.
He is a half-brother to two winners out of the Listed-placed Danse Classique who also has the distinction of being the grand-dam of Driving Snow - who made a winning debut in the Curragh maiden which also marked the beginning of Sea The Stars’ glittering career, and went on to score at Stakes level in America.
With 98 lots through the ring so far, the clearance rate stands at 43 per cent.
The average is currently €5,497 and the median is €3,500.
