HUGH BLEAHEN has joined the board of directors at Goffs Bloodstock Sales.

From a family well-known for selling top class NH horses, including this year’s Queen Mother Champion Chase winner Sizing Europe, Hugh is a well-known face at Goffs having joined the team as a bid spotter in 1994 and graduating to auctioneering in 1997.

He moved to London in 1998 to pursue a career in stock broking at Credit Suisse before returning to Dublin in 2008 to set up a trading firm for GFI Group.

Commenting on the appointment Goffs Chief Executive Henry Beeby said: “We are delighted to welcome Hugh to the Board. His impressive financial career combined with a real passion for farming and selling horses at Goffs will further strengthen our Board of industry professionals and will undoubtedly be of great benefit to Goffs and most importantly to our clients”.

Bleahen added:“I am delighted to have been asked to join the Goffs Bloodstock Sales Board. Goffs has worked extremely hard to attract both quality horses and customers to its sales both NH and Flat. I am very excited of the prospect of being able to voice some new ideas that can help the vendor, the buyer, the industry and Goffs.”
