Grade 1 sire Cactus Ridge transferred to Vinery

CACTUS RIDGE, sire of last month's Queen Elizabeth II Challenge Cup Stakes heroine Hot Cha Cha, will stand the 2010 seasonat Vinery in Kentucky.

The eight-year-old son of Hennessy, who was unbeaten at two, when his victories included the Grade 3 Arlington-Washington Futurity, had stood at Walmac from the outset of his stud career.

Cactus Ridge is currently ninth in the ranks of US third-season sires - a table headed by Empire Maker - having been represented by 72 winners and six stakes winners.

Besides Hot Cha Cha, his other progeny include Potosina, seventh in Friday's Breeders' Cup Juvenile Fillies Turf, and the useful Big Glen.

A fee for Cactus Ridge has not been announced.
