Redoute's Choice filly tops Karaka Winter Sale

AN unraced three-year-old Redoute's Choice half-sister to the Group 1-placed Galileo's Daughter topped the Bloodstock Winter Mixed Sale at Karaka, New Zealand on Sunday.

One of the two horses offered by Phoenix Park, the unnamed filly was sold to New Zealand Bloodstock acting as agent for NZ$250,000 (£98,472/€115,851).

Honor Lap, winner of the Group 1 West Australian Derby, was the second highest price of the sale at NZ$100,000 (£39,393/€46,340). The daughter of Honor Grades was sold to Scott Williams' Bloodstock Resources in foal to Pins.

The sale, which offered an assortment of broodmares, yearlings, two-year-olds, raced and unraced stock, saw 169 lots sell for an aggregate of NZ$994,900 and average price of NZ$5,887, which was down 25 per cent from last year. The clearance rate remained strong at 88 per cent.

Leading vendor Twin Pine Thoroughbreds dispersed 72 lots for NZ$359,800.
