Misremembered to Hill 'n' Dale next year

GRADE 1 winner Misremembered will enter stud at Hill 'n' Dale Farm in Kentucky next year.

The five-year-old son of former Hill 'n' Dale resident Candy Ridewas bred and trained by Bob Baffert. He won the Grade 2 Swaps Stakes and Indiana Derby at three and beat Neko Bay and Dakota Phone when landing the Grade 1 Santa Anita Handicap last year.

Last month Misremembered finished second to Win Willy in the Grade 2 Oaklawn Handicap.

Misremembered is one of six Grade 1 winners sired by Lane's End Farm stallion Candy Ride. His dam, the Quack mare Beyond Perfection, won the Grade 2 Del Mar Debutante Stakes.

"The way he won the Santana Mile in near track record time, in a gallop, showcased his brilliance in a manner similar to his sire, Candy Ride, who set a new track record over 1m2f while defeating Medaglia D'Oro," said Baffert. "He blossomed into a true Classic horse."

Hill 'n' Dale owner John Sikura said: "I have a special affection for the horse because of my connections to his sire, his dam and his owner. There is something very special at play.

"We launched Candy Ride on a meteoric rise to stardom so I have had a watchful eye on his sons. We are very happy to add Misrembered to our roster where his good looks and brilliance fit the prototype of a classic sire."

Misremembered's fee next year has been set at $7,500.
