Mr Sekiguchi transferred to stand in Florida

SIX-YEAR-OLD stallion Mr Sekiguchi has been transferred from John Sikura's Hill 'N' Dale Farms in Kentucky to the Appleton family's Bridlewood Farm near Ocala, Florida, for the 2010  breeding season.

The son of Storm Cat, who hails from the top stallion-producing family of A.P. Indy, Summer Squall and Wolfhound, was sold to Hideyuki Mori for$8 million at the 2004 Keeneland September yearling sale. He contested four races, all at Santa Anita, winning twice and finishing runner-up twice.

Mr Sekiguchi has stood at a fee of $5,000 for the past two seasons at Hill 'N' Dale, and he has his first foals on the ground this year.

Bridlewood Farm general manager George G. Isaacs said: "Mr Sekiguchi embodies all of the right ingredients to be a top stallion.

"We're excited about this unique opportunity. Seeing is believing. He's a wonderful genetic and physical specimen."
