Carlisle: sister to Contraband wins hurdle

HIGH RANSOM, bought for just 9,000gns bytrainer Micky Hammond at the Tattersalls Horses-In-Training Sale in October took the novice hurdle at Carlisle on her second start over timber.

Placed once in six starts on the Flat, it's no great surprise to seeher take to jumping as a sister to 2005 Arkle winner Contraband.

By Red Ransom, Contraband showed a fair level of ability on the level, finishing thereabouts in two Ebor Handicaps, and he also changed hands at the Tattersalls Autumn Horses-In-Training Sale, for 64,000gns.

Their dam, Shortfall by Last Tycoon, produced two all weather winners on the Flat, Fall In Line and Parachute, while Shortfall herself was second in a Listed handicap. She is also a half-sister toGroup 1-placed Musicanna.
