to stand in Australia

ILLUSTRIOUS Blue, winner of the 2010 Goodwood Cup for William Knight, has been retired to stand at Ridgeview Farm in Victoria, Australia.

A fee of A$6,600 (£4,448/€5,678) has been set for the nine-year-old, who is only the second son of Dansili to stand in Australia following Zoffany.

Illustrious Blue retires as the winner of ten races from 7f to two miles. He particularly excelled at Goodwood when he won seven races including the Glorious Stakes and Festival Stakes in addition to the Goodwood Cup. He also won the 2010 Sagaro Stakes at Ascot prior to continuing his career with Chris Waller in Australia.

A half-brother to Listed sprint winner Mullein, Illustrious Blue is out of German Listed scorer Gipsy Moth, a daughter of Efisio.
