High-class miler Zacinto to stud in New Zealand

THE former Sir Michael Stoute-trained Zacinto, who was awarded the 2009 Celebration Mile on the disqualification of Delegator, has been purchased to stand in New Zealand.

The six-year-old son of Dansili will stand at Inglewood Stud in the South Island's North Canterbury district. His fee will be announced at a later date.

Zacinto made an immediate impression in the colours of his breeder, Khalid Abdulla, by slamming the opposition when making an eight-length winning juvenile debut at Sandown before finishing second in the Champagne Stakes at Doncaster. At three, he developed into a high-class miler, winning a Listed race at Goodwood and running second to Rip Van Winkle in a four-runner Queen Elizabeth II Stakes.

Zacinto hails from one of Juddmonte's finest families, being out of the Group 3-placed Distant View mare Ithaca, a daughter of Oaks heroine Reams Of Verse.

He is the second son of Dansili to retire to stud in Austalasia following the British-bred Champions Gallery, a Group 1-placed performer in Hong Kong who stands at Kilto Park in Australia.
