After a fortnight of negotiations, Italian agent Eugenio Colombo has secured the filly's sale to Sheikh Hamdan, for whom she will be saddled by her present trainer Bruno Grizzetti in Sunday's Group 1 Prix Marcel Boussac at Longchamp.

The High Chaparral filly had scored in Listed company in Italy, before heading to Deauville, where she won the Group 3 Prix du Calvados from Sir Mark Prescott's Virginia Hall on August 22.

Joanna's sale follows news that antepost 2,000 Guineas favourite Kingsfort has been sold to agent Anthony Stroud. No details of the War Chant colt's new ownership have been announced although Stroud, Sheikh Mohammed's former racing manager, is still regularly used by the Darley team for buying privately and at public auction.
